How to Use Experience

Register with Experience

  • On the Experience login/home page, click on "Create Account". Fill in name, email address and create username and password.
  • Username must be unique and will not be accepted if it already exists in system.
  • Click "Register", proceed to "Profile" page and fill in required information.
  • You will have 60 days to upload and publish your resume or your account will be deleted (you will receive reminder emails).
  • If your account is deleted, you can re-register at any time.

Uploading a Resume, Cover Letter, or Other Document

  • If you need help writing your resume, visit the Resumes & Cover Letters  page.
  • After logging in, select the "Documents" menu item, then "Upload a Document".
  • Select type of document "Resume", click "Next".
  • Click "Browse," select document from your disk or hard drive, click "Upload".
  • You can upload numerous resumes, cover letters, etc.

How & Why to "Publish" an Uploaded Resume or Other File:

HOW to Publish a Resume:

  • After logging in, select the "Documents" menu item, then "Publish a Resume".
  • Select the resume you wish to publish from the drop-down list, then click the update button.

WHY Publish a Resume?
Your uploaded resume/s will not be viewable by employers until you "Publish" your resume to a "Resume Book". Resume books are categorized by career fields of interest (you publish your resume to your desired field's resume book).

Additionally, there are a few functionally focused resume books. Here are some examples:

  • Not ready for employers to view your resume, and want to keep your Experience account from being deactivated » publish to the "Not for Employers" resume book.

  • Looking for an On or Off Campus Student Job » publish to the "On- and Off-Campus Student Jobs" resume book.

  • Looking for an internship » publish to the "Internship Resumes" resume book.

Delete an Uploaded Resume or Other File

  • After logging in, select the "Documents" menu item, then "Your Resumes".
  • Select document to be deleted.
  • Select "Delete" on drop-down file, click "Go".
  • Confirm deletion.
    Please note: The deletion of a resume will also remove that resume from any resume books that it is published in. If this is the only resume currently uploaded, you will be required to upload another resume prior to deletion.


Find On-Campus Interviews

A: On-campus interviews will utilize either a pre-select schedule (the employer pre-selects the candidates who are then given permission to sign up for interviews) or an open-schedule (open/self sign-up by any candidate is permitted).

Follow these steps to sign-up for an on-campus interview:

  • After logging in, on the home page under 1-click job searches, select "Jobs with upcoming interview schedules".
  • Click on the "Job Title" for the position you are interested in.
  • Follow the application instructions located at the bottom of the job description page to sign-up for an interview.
  • All interviews (except Teacher Interview Day interviews) are held in the Career Service Center's professional interviewing suites.
  • Candidates should be aware of the Interview Cancellation and No-Show Policy

Find Internships

  • After logging in, use the "Search for Jobs & Internships" option on the home page.
  • After the search is complete, click on the job title to see details for a position.
    - OR -
  • Select the " Jobs & Internships" menu item, then "Job Search".
  • In the "More Searches" box on the left, select Internships. Search options will then be displayed for you to use.
  • After the search is complete, click on the job title to see details for a position.

Find Student Jobs (non-degreed)

  • After logging in, click on the "Jobs & Internships" tab.
  • On the left side of the page under "1-Click Searches" select one of the following options:
    1. "Off-Campus Student Jobs"
    2. "On-Campus Student Jobs-ALL"
    3. "On-Campus Student Jobs-Federal Work Study Only"
  • After selecting one of the options listed above you will see a list of positions.
  • Click on the job title to see details about the position and how to apply.

Find Professional Positions (degreed)

  • After logging in, select the "Jobs & Internships" menu item, then click on "Job Search".
  • On the left side of the page under "More Searches" click on "Variety Search for Professional/Degreed Positions".
    Options: one may search by "Keyword" or by "Function". If searching by "Keyword", be sure to use "quotations" around keywords in order to eliminate the return of positions seemingly unrelated.
  • After selecting the "Search" button, click on the job title to see details for a position.
