How to Find a Teaching Job

• Attend Education SuperStart Saturday to learn about job search strategies, interviewing techniques, teacher supply and demand, and how to prepare for Teacher Interview Day.

• Attend Teacher Interview Day hosted each spring by the Career Services Center. Review the Teacher Interview Day Timeline and register with the Experience Job Board to participate in this event (and view future job postings!)

• Participate in regional education fairs listed in the American Association for Employment in Education "Job Fairs for Educators" (review this guide in our Career Resource Library. )

• Search online education job posting sites.

• Network by telling everyone you know that you are looking for a teaching position.

• Gather your letters of recommendation to share with prospective employers.

• Call school districts and inquire about possible openings. Visit our Career Resource Library to view the AAEE “Directory of Public School Systems in the United States ” or the “Ohio QED Guide” to gather school contact information.

  • If no positions are open, ask: "Do you know of any openings at any schools in the area?"
